Colored glazed glass is an inorganic glaze (also called ink) printed on the glass surface, and then tempered after drying, the glaze is sintered on the glass surface forever to obtain a decorative glass product.
The glaze used for colored glazed glass is generally inorganic color and low melting glass. During the tempering and sintering process, the glaze is melted on the glass surface, so it has stable color and is not easy to fade. life.
Colored glaze glass can also be coated, laminated, synthetic hollow and other composite processing, so as to obtain special properties for other purposes. Therefore, it is widely used in the building decoration industry; furniture glass, electronic glass, etc. often use color glaze technology.
Colored glazed glass generally refers to high-temperature glazed glass, which needs to be sintered on the glass surface at a temperature of 600-700 ℃ after printing. The low-temperature glaze is also called low-temperature ink, which is the product after printing the low-temperature ink on the glass surface for drying. The drying temperature generally does not exceed 200 ℃.
Low-temperature glaze does not need to go through high temperature, and some organic colorants can be used in its pigment, so the color is richer and more selective. However, the adhesion between low-temperature glaze and glass is worse than that of high-temperature glaze. Most of them can be removed with nails, and the color durability does not allow high-temperature glaze. Generally used in home appliances and electronic glass.
Screen printing refers to the method of printing glaze onto glass. Both high-temperature glaze and low-temperature glaze can be screen printed. Screen printing is generally relative to roll printing, roll printing is generally only full plate printing or regular patterns.
In the past, the glazes used for colored glazed glass are all oily glazes, that is, the pigments need to be mixed with oily solvents and alkyd resins for printing. Therefore, VOC (volatile organic compound) is produced in the production of colored glazed glass, which has a certain impact on operators and the environment.
In recent years, water-based glazes have started to rise. Water-based glazes have replaced oily solvents and alkyd resins with water, making the production process of colored glaze glass healthier and more environmentally friendly. However, since water as a solvent has significantly poorer diffusivity and adhesion than oil, it has higher requirements for the production process.
The emergence of lead-free glaze is also a requirement for health and environmental protection. In the early years, many glazes were added lead glass or other lead-containing materials in order to reduce the melting point of the glaze and increase the color saturation. In recent years, as the concept of environmental protection has gained popularity, many glaze manufacturers have introduced lead-free glazes, and their performance is basically close to that of leaded glazes.
Colored glazed glass for construction generally uses regular geometric patterns such as dots and lines. The good design of these patterns can make the building and space show a simple and elegant style. But in some cases, the visual illusion will occur if the geometric patterns are not handled carefully.
All along, in order to pursue the environmental protection, beauty and cultural harmony of buildings, people have used a large number of stained glass in the building decoration industry. However, due to the particularity of the process, production, and materials, colored glass is not only expensive, but also difficult to overcome the problem of fading. In order to popularize colored glass, many glass companies at home and abroad are devoted to the research of their process technology.
